At its core, the story explores redemption, identity, and truth: a wrongfully convicted man seeking to reclaim his life, a young woman confronting the scars of her past, and the restless ghost of a servant girl silenced by history. Part mystery, part romance, and part coming-of-age drama, Charlotte’s Moor asks: what do we owe to the past, and can truth ever truly be buried?

House of Strangers is a character-driven psychological novel set on the south Cornish coast around Falmouth and West Penwith. It explores grief, identity, inheritance, and the enduring pull of family secrets.
When Kate unexpectedly inherits a neglected coastal house following the death of her aunt—a bequest that determines her future—she reluctantly takes possession of a place intricately bound to her complex family history. The house becomes both refuge and reckoning, holding secrets long concealed by Kate’s aunt and mother that have shaped her life.
As she restores the house and begins to re-engage with her artistic ambitions, Kate’s fragile stability is shattered as she confronts who she is, her unresolved grief, and her emotional isolation. House of Strangers insists it is possible to forge a future shaped not by family secrecy and loss, but by truth, resilience, and chosen connection.
